A Nodia based software engineer sued the UP Government after he was unable to
find a single pothole in the newly built road between his home and office. A man named Vijay Gandhi
(changed name) reached the apex court and filed a lawsuit against the Yogi Government and demanded a
compensation amount of Rs 5 lacs on grounds of "no-fraud".
Talking to our correspondent, he said that the previous road had a lot of potholes that used to
provide jerks to his body whenever he travelled from office to home and vice-versa. But the newly
built road lacked potholes. He waited for rains to come as he was sure that potholes would appear
once the rains hit the city but this didn't happen as the material used to build the road was "too
good". As his body didn't get any jerks while travelling, this led to rusting of his body parts as
they came under the state of no jerks.
After 10 hours of sitting on a chair in the cubicle, my body already becomes very stiff. Prior to
this incident, my body used to become normal while returning back to home but this became difficult
after the construction of the new road. Now I have to take gym membership to avoid stiffness and the
government should pay for it. Thus, I am suing them (UP Government) for all these troubles that I am
facing.
This incident has now given a big battleground to opposition parties for upcoming state assembly
elections in Uttar Pradesh. Talking to our correspondent, local opposition leader Mr. Akiles Yadav
and his abbajaan Mr. Mullu Yadav said that such events never occurred under their rule. It was the
last 4.5 years that gave ground to such incidents. Both of them said that the policy of "na khaunga,
na khane dunga" has resulted in a big setback to contractors and builders. This act of
dissatisfaction among them will be a major reason behind the loss of the ruling party, commented a
supporter of the two opposition leaders. Twitter leader Rahul Gandhii also used this incident to
target the CM of UP. He tweeted "jo bhrashtachar na kare, wo Chief Minister kaisa?"
We also tried to contact a few leaders from the ruling party but they were afraid to answer the
press. After we agreed not to publish their names, one leader said that he tried to warn CM sahab
about the "tradition of corruption" but his advice was ignored. If the party loses the upcoming
elections, the entire blame will be on Yogi ji, said the leader.
Well the political parties have started their campaigns for the upcoming elections, such incidents
are providing oxygen to the burning political environment of the state and a big source of TRP to
media houses. But it's the common man who is suffering from the "#NoCorruption" scheme of the
government.
